Piano is one of the loneliest instruments to learn and one of the hardest to bring into a band. You need a venue with an actual piano, not a stripped-down keyboard app substitute, and a group of musicians willing to build songs around you rather than round you off.

Rock and pop bands default to guitar-first arrangements. Piano players often end up either sidelined or expected to fill a rhythm-guitar role on a keyboard that was never designed for it. And most rehearsal rooms in London simply do not have a piano at all.
